I opened up Another Story (Japanese) in some recommended programmes out of curiosity (this doesn’t mean I will do it, I would if I could, but I literally have NO idea what any of this means…)
I can tell on the right is the katakana syllabary except each character has been chopped into four pieces, top two on the left side and bottom two on the right side…
Does this mean anything to anyone?
I’d love to translate this game but I think I would be too overwhelmed by the code nonsense…

From the look of it, it’s doing kana in a tile-based system. So each square counts as one tile on a master grid which the code uses to lay out everything the entire screen. Then the tiles are pieced together with an algorithm to make the final kana show up on screen. I’m really not sure if these are just used for titles or if the in-game font is laid out in bitmaps instead of a bitmapped font. In a some of older games, the UI is sometimes “burned” into the graphics (like this) but the actual in game text is a bitmapped font.
I have seen Another Story translated once before, so there has to be a way to translate it into English.

Here’s my Project Rooftop entry! I was thinking kind of a Prince/Beyonce sort of thing. Wanted her to be a little more casual and out there because that’s what I liked so much about the original Draw Batgirl Meme.

After I submitted that I did a few more that were more functional and the latter was the one of that bunch that I liked enough to finish. Looked at a lot of GCPD swat stuff from the Nolan films and tried to fit the bat logo in there. Hope you like ‘em!
